Executives in Residence (EIRs) join the Progress Partners team as a way of staying connected and engaged in the market. EIRs are advisors to Progress Partners (PP) and Progress Ventures (PV), lending industry expertise and sourcing new PP investment banking opportunities or PV investment opportunities, making introductions to potential limited partners, and evaluating investments.
It is our goal to create a mutually beneficial relationship whereby EIRs can engage with a range of industry sectors through the Progress team. EIRs share insights and experiences to help PP clients and PV portfolio companies and help the Progress team grow within their roles. In return, PP helps to source job opportunities as well as advisory or board roles on behalf of the EIRs.
Join Friday PP EIR meetings from 10:00 – 11:00am
Join PP bankers and EIRs in our WhatsApp messaging group
Receive recognition on the PP website with name, picture, and LinkedIn profile link
Join client, new business, and portfolio meetings at the discretion of the lead partner
Upon becoming involved with PP clients, EIRs can request a PP email address and/or business cards
Request internal PP resources to help research a sector or specific company that is of interest or relevance
Align themselves with industry sectors (AdTech/MarTech, Video, Content, Commerce, Data, HealthTech, FinTech, and Enterprise Software) where they can contribute relative experience and expertise to building and developing new business and thought leadership
Have a monthly check-in call with a PP Senior Managing Director

As Progress will look to leverage the expertise and connections of the EIRs, the firm also acknowledges the importance of compensating EIRs for helping the firm.
EIRs are compensated for:
Client referrals
EIRs receive a payment of $10,000 for a bona fide introduction to a potential customer who becomes a Paying Client.
Paying Clients must meet the following requirements: contract term of at least 3 months, and a monthly retainer of at least $15K.
Payments are made around the 15th day of the month immediately following each calendar quarter end (i.e. January 15, April 15, July 15, October 15)
Project involvement
Requirements for project-based compensation include:
Being an active member of the project team
Joining and participating in the weekly client calls
Reviewing and commenting upon deal materials
Providing market/segment guidance
Offering connections to foster the closing of a transaction
Responding to requests in a timely manner
Advance written approval of a Progress Partner Senior Managing Director that the project and EIR meet the minimum requirements
EIRs receive payments of $5,000 per quarter for the first Paying Client, and $2,500 per quarter for additional Paying Clients, up to a maximum of $10,000 per quarter.
Consulting engagements
PP will occasionally engage EIRs to provide professional services to satisfy inbound client or potential client requests for strategic consulting, business development or operational support. The terms, rates, and duration for these engagements will be determined on a case-by-case basis in consultation with participating EIRs.
